Scholarship Fund
One of the main priorities of Wellington Rowing Club is to make rowing a sport accessible to all. To help us achieve this goal, we have established the Wellington Rowing Club Scholarship Fund, to support rowers in financial need.
Typically, scholarships will be awarded to help recipients cover the cost of their club membership, although other needs may be considered. Scholarship recipients are required to continue to row under Wellington Rowing Club colours for the season in which they receive the scholarship, and may also be required to contribute to the club in various ways such as coaching or helping with boat maintenance.
How can I contribute to the fund?
If you become an Alumni member of Wellington Rowing Club, your joining fee is automatically directed to the fund.
You can contribute to the fund through a one-off or regular donation, noting the donation is to be used for the Scholarship Fund. These donors are recognised on the club website.
How do I apply for a scholarship?
You can download and complete an application form from the button on this page, detailing your claim for assistance.
This application will be considered by a sub-committee consisting of the President, Club Captain, Treasurer.
There are no firm limits on the number of scholarships issued each year. This will vary depending on the size of the fund, and the quality of applications received.
