Wellington Rowing Club is one of the premier rowing clubs in New Zealand. Situated on the Wellington Waterfront, it is also one of the most sought after pieces of real estate in the city. We have been a part of Wellington for over 100 years. The club has a fine reputation in the rowing community and has produced many international oarsmen and oarswomen over the years, including Olympic and World Championship gold. In 1989 our buildings were moved to its current site when the waterfront development was started. We have around 120 members, ranging from novice to senior level rowers.

The Wellington Rowing Club gratefully acknowledges the Trust House Charitable Trust, Tararua Foundation, AW Newton Bequest, Phoenix Trust, Community Grants Foundation, the Hillary Commission, the Lion Foundation, Southern Trust, Pub Charity Inc, Wellington City Council and the New Zealand Community Trust for the financial assistance they have given in the last year. Without this assistance the club would not have been able to progress in the way it has done.

125th Anniversary: Can you help?
Wellington Rowing Club will be celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2010. Club member Michael Grace is currently gathering information on the history of the Club for a special edition book to celebrate the 125th. If you have any information that may be useful, such as old photos, regatta results, club reports or newsletters, etc, then send an email to webmaster@wellingtonrowing.org.nz.
