In light of the government's announcement that gatherings of more than 500 people should be cancelled it will not be responsible to hold the usual Maadi regatta later this month where over 2000 students are expected to be entered and a crowd of 8-10,0000 on finals days is not unknown.Maadi has never been cancelled before. But it has previously been postponed (from Easter to November) due to the 1948 polio epidemic.NZSSRA will be meeting urgently to decide what happens next with Maadi 2020
