After our Corporate Challenge was cancelled in 2020 due to Covid-19, the Club was looking forward to hosting the 2021 event, with a little trepidation… what if we have no interest? Well, we needn’t have worried. Thanks to corporates, friends, and numerous individuals we have close to 50 registered for our Corporate Challenge.
Wellington weather has been kind to us in recent weeks and all crews have had the opportunity to get into boats and row in the harbour complemented with erg sessions and Tuesday and Thursday night fitness sessions at the Club. Coaches are seeing big improvements.
Next on the agenda is Corporate Rowing Camp to be held in Whanganui for crews and coaches, based at Whanganui Top10 Holiday Park. This weekend is an opportunity to row on consecutive days, have “lots of water time” and enjoy each other’s company. More information to come in the next week or so.
A big shout out to WRC club members who have offered to coach or cox and to the school coxswains who are helping us out. Without your support the Corporate Challenge wouldn’t be the success it is.
Easy oars, Maria
